About us
Sigma Laborzentrifugen GmbH is a worldwide leading manufacturer of laboratory centrifuges. Sigma offers a broad spectrum of laboratory centrifuges, fixed-angle and swing-out rotors and accessories. All of the products meet high standards of reliability and safety. The application areas include pharmaceutical research, biotechnology, medical analytics, environmental analytics, petroleum analyses and many other areas.
Martin Christ Sr started producing centrifuges in 1948. In 1975 he founded the company Sigma Laborzentrifugen. Sigma gained worldwide recognition with a new maintenance-free drive system for laboratory centrifuges, and the company grew rapidly. The company culture of the family-owned business is based on flat organisational structures with short communication paths, sustainable business operations, and close networking with international representatives and dealers.
Sigma centrifuges are known for their performance and reliability as well as a high standard of safety. We have the right solution for every specific customer need – compact small centrifuges, high-speed or stand-alone centrifuges, refrigerated or unrefrigerated, heated, or especially low noise. The products are developed by a team of engineers at the Osterode facility, who also support production from start to end. The customers additionally benefit from our expert worldwide service.

Products & Services
Sigma centrifuges are high performance, reliable and safe. Whether you are looking for a compact microlitre centrifuge, a high-performance benchtop centrifuge or a large-capacity self-standing centrifuge – refrigerated, unrefrigerated, heated, automated or especially quiet and energy efficient – we have the right solution for every specific customer requirement. Product options such as IVD, inert gas port and water cooling are also part of our product portfolio.
Refrigerated microcentrifuge Sigma 1-14K
The Sigma 1‑14K centrifuge has a small footprint, fits in every lab, and fulfils the most stringent technical requirements. Its strong performance and large range of rotors are unique: Two fixed-angle rotors provide a maximum capacity of 24 x 1.5/2.0 ml. Thanks to rotors for PCR strips, microhaematocrit capillary tubes and filter tubes, the Sigma 1‑14K is an all-round laboratory centrifuge suitable for a wide variety of applications. It is popular for molecular biology applications such as DNA, RNA and protein isolation, clinical chemistry, and in research labs and food labs, universities, and the pharmaceutical industry.
Unrefrigerated benchtop centrifuge Sigma 2-7
The Sigma 2-7 compact benchtop centrifuge arose from the experiences and desires of our customers. It combines advanced technology with high capacity and sets standards for ergonomic operation and quiet running.
The maximum RCF of more than 2,500 x g is suitable for many application areas in clinical diagnostics, veterinary medicine, pharmaceutics, environmental analysis and industrial production, as well as universities and research facilities.
Refrigerated benchtop centrifuge Sigma 4-5KL
The high-performance Sigma 4-5KL laboratory centrifuge is designed for throughput and capacity. The hight torque enables especially short acceleration times and makes laboratory processes efficient. This centrifuge is recommended for applications in clinical diagnostics and for life sciences applications. The refrigerated version Sigma 4-5KL, with a temperature adjustment range of –10°C to +40°C, is recommended for the protection of specimens with especially sensitive limit temperatures.
The Sigma 4‑5KL also boasts a low noise level and an extensive range of accessories. Up to 50 different routine protocols can be stored in program memory and easily retrieved.
